The Grand Future | Wesley Lai (11)

The universe is seemingly infinite,

its expansiveness

makes observing a distant star

the same as looking

back at the past

Eventually,

at some point in the grand future,

all stars will have faded

from our midnight ether

No one

in the distant future

could possibly know of

what we have now

We are so lucky

to bear witness to

the beauty of it,

experiencing it all

everyday at night

As they fade from our view

So too will the

whispered secrets

they may know

of our universe

The majesty

of the night sky

billions of years

from now

will be lost,

unseen as they

draw from our view.
