"Whenever I’m stressed or anxious, I always turn to music for comfort. Whether it be Taylor Swifts’ soothing sound or Ariana’s catchy beats to Doja Cat’s upbeat rapping, I can turn my mood around with a simple click. I was inspired by the ancient scenic setting of Taylor Swifts’ song, “Love Story” as the harmonious musical beats transport the subject to a serene environment of an 15th century urban city in Europe. Stuck in the expectations and limitations of her title, music is one thing that frees her from her claustrophobic life, allowing her to venture into unexplored territories. I connect with the subject of this art piece and feel like music is my safe space. Music has perpetuated joy, colorfulness and satisfaction for centuries. Once we press stop, we go back to our harshly regular lives, anticipating for another chance to go back to our alternate world."
