Ambition | Kylie Johnson

Writer's picture: shsimagesshsimages

Those who make history share one trait.

For me, I am constantly asking questions

Putting ideas in my head and spreading them

Wondering what I can do with them

Finding purpose within work

Finding myself lost in tasks that hurt me now

Hoping for a better future

I work my being away, shedding a past self,

In which I can only see in memories

I ask myself if perfection is worth it

I look towards my idols, seeing their achievements

But knowing what they have sacrificed in the process.

Do I sacrifice myself for my craft?

I finally ask myself, if those who succeed have ambition,

Is ambition something that few have,

Or is it something that is the norm,

But we need to harness in order to succeed?

Only few are successful, and I think,

It is through true ambition.

A quality that sets those with purpose

And those stuck in limbo.
