It's Just Life | Qi Pan (10)

Life is a symphony with no scale; it is not limited by the music rules. It accepts every single aspect of humanity within its tolerance, whether it’s your sudden thought of wickedness, or inherent benevolence. Life can accept your abandoned dreams, or even the future you didn’t accomplish. These would all sound united together, the success and the failure, the warmest things the the world along with the evil that creeps down your spine.

Life provides the roof of all the world’s injustices and deceiving behaviors. It allows all your hidden dark thoughts to intertwine with the positive ones. You can call it generous, or maybe it’s just simply indifferent. Life watches you fail and succeed with not a slight sign of emotion. It’s not limited like a musical symphony, it doesn’t need the instruments to cooperate and the notes to match.

You can end every story and movie with “it’s just life” and have everyone nod in agreement over these simply constructed four words. Yet everyone has a different understanding of “it’s just life”; maybe it is one of the only things that every single homo sapien on earth agrees to disagree about. As Life includes, explains, represents, and defines every single thing with its boundless figures, it includes every turn and failure you ever experience. An innocent giggle coming out of a young content life can stand right alongside an anguished weep out of a desperate one. It can be so impactful, that it your soul inhales with astonishment, or so plain that it erases every uniqueness of your personality.

Yet Life is still a symphony. Unrestrained by common society’s definition, it is “others” folder, where what doesn’t fit in everything else fits here. It’s the most unique symphony, it doesn’t need a conductor to ensure the tempo, nor the unison of sound. Life doesn’t need a controller, or an organizer. Chaos is its meter, and the elements of your whatsoever life is its rhythm and chord. Everyone plays freely here, with no audience to applaud at the rest in the middle of the music, or hesitant at a deceptive cadence. It is for nobody and for everybody.

Life abandons the norm of music that everyone follows, made by the 18th century European musician. It abandons the arrogance humans laid on something that was captured by our rules, and philosophies. Life lived among all the created beings, atoms, and every single piece of universe in the name “the purpose of life”. We learned how to understand it, using things we created ourselves.

Life is so far beyond the dictionary that we just need to name this nameless being. We have to find a place to put the “others”. So we draw a flexible line, enough to surround if not include everything Life is about. Words are created so we can put a tag on everything. Because of this, we are able to describe, and not live in emptiness. By calling something out, it gives us this palpable sense of power and control.

We are always scared by uncertainty. The haunted ghost house is always in the dark, where we can’t see, where we don’t know. Of course we are scared by this thing that can include all of us. Therefore we endeavored to erase the fear, by attempting to adequately describe life as daily, ordinary, and normal; also attempting to categorize life as reality, or even symphony. Nevertheless Life can not be conducted, since in the end, it’s just Life.
