Red.
The color of anger and hate
Of broken glass
Of blood
Of shouts and screams
Of words that will never be taken back
Blue
The color of regret.
As rain pours
And you muffle your cries
Realizing what you have done during that moment of red
Green
The color of disgust
As you look in the mirror
And see you look back
The same you who felt blue.
The weak you.
Black
The color of numbness
When you simply do not care enough
To feel green
Of the void
And the abyss
That pull you in
In your moments of weakness
When you truly start to think
The color that suffocates.
But,
Hiding behind the anger is
The color of love
Of whispered promises
Spoken so softly in the dark
Of intertwined hands
And small smiles
The color that brought you out of the bleak black
And into the colorful red world
And behind the tears
Is the color of the sky
That you see
With your red
When gazing at the clouds
And admiring the view
Of a bright day
Or a nostalgic memory
When you could easily take a step
And have made a friend
Within the disgust,
Is the color of nature
The green grass
Beneath the blue
The color of luck
Of moments in time Where you simply do not care About anything As you dance and grin And jump
And Black
The beautiful, overlooked color of peace
And sereneness
As you sit and close your eyes
Sitting in the moment
As all the colors wash over you
A rainbow, perhaps
But in black
The color of the beautiful night sky
Though not completely black
It is as beautiful as the color
Or any color
Your ideas are simply an illusion,
Falling apart with every thought.
Red is love, red is anger, red is blood, red is anything you say it is.
But beneath it all, red is a color. And that is all the beauty it needs.
