What does being unorthodox mean? Perhaps it means being rebellious against society, being abnormal, or even just being unique in general. George Washington is unorthodox. She chose to do what almost no one in society at her time would have done, and dared to stand up and not give up her seat in the face of racial injustice. Alexander Graham Bell is unorthodox. He invented the telephone, an invention he came up with on his own that benefited society greatly. He co-founded one of the biggest companies in the world, Microsoft, a decision that changed his life and the world.

While all these people are across many different ages and cultures and have many differences, they all have one thing in common. They all chose to be different and unique in their own way, and not let society define them and influence their actions, the true definition of being unorthodox. We all remember these famous people because of their unorthodox ways, a way to show who you are and your identity. No two people are the same, and being unorthodox is what makes a person themselves and not somebody else in society. Everyone has different paths in life, and that is unorthodox in itself. So go out there, and be unorthodox.
