The snowy day of winter lays
Before the spring and fall
And summer showers last for hours
Causing pouring waterfalls
Rivers flow and people know that all will be alright
That’s what a sanctuary is, everything happy and bright
A hand to hold, a face to know
A family to sit beside
Reasons to smile, to stay for a while
No motivation to hide
Fires glow and people know they’re safe from the outside storm
That’s what a sanctuary is, everything lovely and warm
A roof above your head to protect
From rain and snow and hail
Kind Samaritans on the road you will meet
To show you love while you’re broken and frail
Hearts will grow and people know that they’ve got a haven to stay
That’s what a sanctuary is, a sheltering home for the day
Yet again lay snowy days
Before the spring, summer, fall
With summer showers that last for hours
And trickle into waterfalls
Rivers flow and people know that all will indeed be alright
That’s what my sanctuary is, everything happy and bright
Fires glow and people know they’re safe from the outside storm
That’s what my sanctuary is, everything lovely and warm
Hearts will grow and people know that they’ve got a haven to stay
That’s what my sanctuary is, a sheltering home for the day
That’s what my sanctuary is
