Mercy | Colton Wang

Sin is a crack in the road,

one that is forgotten.

But justice is not in vain.

For an offense is an offense,

no questions asked.

The answers lie above,

when transgressions are assessed,

and rewards bestowed.

Behold, His Wrath is coming,

when the crack will fade away!

To the condemned,

to the vile,

to them who are guilty,

to you who is wretched,

to all of humanity,

the veil is torn,

whence justice will reign.

Yet love is not mutually exclusive.

Yes, there is no life in the breach,

no trace of hope,

nothing but despair.

Except there is no fear,

because a quiet rain will fall,

pitter-patter, undeserving rain

to quench the parched crack from growing,

growing,

and growing

into a burning fire.

Because rain is grace,

grace is enough,

enough rain there is.

Behold, a plant has grown

from the ground

into the sky,

up

up

and up,

until the crack, sealed,

is one no longer.
