Breaking Free | Gurkiran Natt

At first,

Covid stayed in my mind as if it was water in the lungs of a drowning person,

But not just in my mind,

The mind of the world,

The eyes of the world,

Kept weeping,

Over and over again,

Like endless rivers,

Waves kept coming and I kept sinking,

Seemed like a never ending ocean,

Seemed like i couldn’t hold on to something,

Until one day,

When i realized,

Even when the world was submerged in the fog,

The light was there,

The sun would still rise,

Shining upon the beauty of the earth,

You just had to reach up, and grab it,

Get yourself out of the darkness before it consumed you whole,

And just like that,

I was free,

Once again.
