Evolution | Ester Baek

All that is fast is not transformation,

transformation, by all accounts, is slow.

Never forgetting the dull and the dark.

An altering, however hard it had been,

Even now it will always be remembered.

Seeing now how painful it was,

Realizing how the story's evolved.

We witnessed our generation become destroyed,

How I dreaded the virus when it all began.

Down, down, down into the darkness we went.

Unnoticed it goes - the growth, the shift, the change.

Going on to see the light and the glee,

I smile looking back to the memories made.

The strength that was built which had caused some to flee,

It will be recalled through our lives - not causing a fade.

Although it began with destruction and anger,

We all survived through misery and vain.

Thinking back to the past altercations,

We allowed the world to clutch on as a rein.

Moving forward with a smile on our faces,

We come to find the stories untold.

Bonding together as all different races,

We all come to terms with the new and the old.
