The Gathering of Sound | Sahana Khanna (12)

The chill of the air

The jiggling of the door bell

The chattering voices of the audience

Entering the performance hall.

The drumming of the tympani

The rustle of the crowd

The clacking of the director’s feet,

Walking up to the stage.

The mellow hum of the tubas

The fluttery notes of the flute

The crescendo of the snare drum

Punctuates the melody

All aspects of this room

The audience, the performers, the instruments

Comes together to create

A harmonious symphony.
